AICCSA 2024 PhD Forum\u00a0 Program Download<\/span><\/a><\/b><\/span><\/h2>

The ACS\/IEEE International Conference on Computer Systems and Applications (AICCSA) is going to host the Ph.D. Forum for the graduate students working toward their Ph.D. on topics that are in the scope of the AICCSA. The aim of the forum is to provide PhD students at all stages of their research a supportive environment to discuss their research proposal, receive guidance and feedback from leading members of the computer systems and applications research community and promote networking and collaboration while enjoying the AICCSA conference and many associated workshops. A special session will be devoted to career mentoring for the students in attendance that will involve round table discussions and CV preparation workshop.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>Submission Instructions<\/b><\/span><\/h2>

All submissions should be 2 pages long as extended abstract, formatted according to the IEEE Computer Society Press proceedings style guide and submitted electronically in PDF format. Please register as authors and submit your papers on EasyChair (<\/span>https:\/\/easychair.org\/conferences\/?conf=aiccsa2024<\/span><\/a><\/span>) while selecting the \u201cPhD Forum\u201d track during the submission. Student applicants must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program at the time of submission and first author of the paper should be the PhD student followed by the PhD supervisors.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span>PhD students working in any area addressed by one or more topics under the AICSSA\u201924 conference main tracks can submit a paper describing the core problem of their PhD research and its relevance by providing a clear statement of the problem they intend to address, the motivation of the interest and novelty of the underlying research challenges, the explanation of the main ideas by examples, and a description of the proposed research plan and expected results. Submissions should be written using the following structure:<\/span><\/p>

Problem Statement and Motivation:<\/b> What problem do you solve in your Ph.D. project and why is it exciting? Present scenarios to motivate the research, highlight its challenges. Articulate your objectives.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Background and Related Work:<\/b> How is it done today, and what are the limits of current practice? Discuss your findings from your literature review and highlight what is missing and how you are going to improve state-of-the-art.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Approach and Uniqueness:<\/b> What is new in your approach and why do you think it will be successful?<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Current Status:<\/b> Describe the current state of the work and if applicable present the preliminary results that have been already reached.<\/span><\/span><\/p>

Expected Results and Contributions:<\/b> What are the expected outcomes and how will those enable\/enrich the community, an application domain, or a broader ecosystem?<\/span><\/span><\/p>

    \u00a0<\/b><\/span>Accepted PhD Papers<\/b><\/span><\/h2>

    If selected, authors shall prepare a final camera-ready version of the paper, taking into account all feedback from reviewers, and formatted according to the IEEE Computer Society Press proceedings style guide. PhD Symposium papers will be advertised in the final program and will be submitted to IEEE Xplore as part of the AICCSA\u201924 proceedings. Papers will also be available as part of the IEEE Digital Library.<\/span><\/p>

    Review Process, Format of the Forum, Best Paper Award<\/b><\/span><\/h2>

    Each submission will be reviewed by at least two experts of the PhD Forum organization and will be evaluated in terms of their relevance to the AICCSA\u201924 topics, motivation and research challenges, soundness of the methodology proposed and feasibility of the research plan. Each accepted paper will have two different opportunities to be presented. Besides the full presentation during the PhD Forum sessions, during the main conference, a \u201cPhD Elevator Pitch Session\u201d will be organized where each PhD student will showcase their research shortly (3min presentation). The Best PhD Forum Paper will be selected, and the award will be presented during the main conference.
